Scoring
In regular competitions, every shooter shoots 3 cards in 45 minutes. Each card has ten scoring bulls and two sighters. The sighters can be shot at any number of times, but only one shot is allowed per scoring bull. The highest possible score is 100 pts per card, so the total highest possible score is 300. Ties are broken by looking at X's or bullseyes. Highest possible number of X's is 30. You can score your own cards at practice. At competitions, they are run through a scanner and then scored by the Orion Scoring System within seconds.
Each shooter is then placed in their own division according to their score, and the top ten receive ribbons and/or medals. The top three teams of each division are also placed and receive medals.
